African Energy Conducts Second Round of Nigeria Training

Abuja, Nigeria, 1 October 04 ---- Following on their highly successful training held in Lagos, African Energy and Xantrex recently held similar renewable energy training sessions in Abuja and Port Harcourt, Nigeria. Local dealers Solar Electric Systems of Nigeria and A.O. Demarg Ltd. helped organize the training sessions, which were led by African Energy managing director Lincoln Dahl. Approximately 40 people attended the two sessions, which focused on developing and installing renewable energy and power backup systems. Most attendees were solar energy companies or companies interested in entering the renewable energy business. Xantrex, the manufacturer of Trace inverters, provided training materials and Dotun Tokun, the manager of the local Xantrex service centre also assisted in the training.

The training session also featured a special session for employees of the Shell Petroleum Development Corporation in Port Harcourt, providing them options for the using renewable energy technologies to assist local populations affected by Shell’s petroleum business.
