African Energy Fills Training in Mali

Bamako, MALI – 17 August 05   ----   Over 40 representatives of solar and renewable energy companies in West Africa filled a two day technical training session in Bamako, Mali, led by African Energy, Xantrex and Morningstar.  Companies from Mali, Nigeria, and Burkina Faso were represented at the event, which was hosted at the Centre Regionale d’Energie Solaire and promoted by the Corporate Council on Africa .

“We had a very positive response from the African dealers, and I think the presence of our partners from Xantrex and Morningstar at this training shows we are all committed to what we see as a very vibrant solar market driven by good African companies”, said Lincoln Dahl, Managing Director of African Energy.

Attendance at the training surpassed expectations, meaning some late-comers were actually turned away at the door.  The sessions focused on increasing the technical knowledge of participants in solar sizing, battery management, and the use of inverted systems.  A practical demonstration included Xantrex’s new CR inverter/charger and Morningstar’s solar controller line.
